Meet the Northern Girl

I was born and raised on the Northern shores of Lake Superior, otherwise known as "God's Country". My father taught me how to see and catch beauty through the lens of a camera and to appreciate nature. We spent many hours scouting fall colors on the shore.
My mother taught me how to love unconditionally. I have always loved nature and creating art. Whether it was building forts in the northern woods of Minnesota or painting in Mr. Johnson's art classes -- it made me happy.
I have enjoyed crocheting for many, many years -- self taught -- and shared and learned with a group of women I consider my soul sisters -- The Stitch & Bitch group. I created a craft business which focused on baby items and named it after my father's childhood nickname "Binky". Unfortunately, time has taken a toll on my aging hands and they no longer allow me to crochet any longer.
My own children are now adults. I find myself wanting to create more and share more. So, I created Northern Girl. It is a collection of handcrafted and hand poured small batch bar soaps and lotions - the names are mostly connected to my beloved North Shore and to my heart.
I'm excited to take you along on my journey. I try to offer pricing that puts a little change in my pocket after my costs -- but make it affordable for you to enjoy. Thank you for visiting my booth at craft fairs -- I cannot fully convey how much I appreciate hearing you like my soaps and that you are coming back for more! <3
